Mission Activity in Hutchinson

Faith has a number of mission projects during the year.  Some like an angel tree project during the Christmas season are annual traditions.   Others like painting on a project for the United Way Community Work day, collection of food for the community Food Bank, and a variety of other local efforts.

Mission Activity Regionally and Nationally

Faith has sent volunteers to both the support recovery efforts from the tornado in Greensburg Kanasa and hurricane Katrina in Mississippi.

International Mission Support

Nothing But Nets

The Faith Youth Group and Faith Mission Team has raised funds to support the Nothing But Nets project that purchases malaria nets to protect children in Africa.

Partnership with Zimbabwe Church

The Faith UMC has partnered with a circuit of UMC Churches in the Mutare District on the East side of Zimbabwe.   Three churches and one preaching point make up the Zimuyua West Circuit.    This developing partnership includes sending at least $600 of financial support a year plus including these churches in our prayers.    The Zimbabwe churches pray for us and teach us much about living out the gospel in difficult circumstances.

Due to the political climate, the employment rate in the region is 2%.    So UNemployment is 98%.    Yet their UMC is growing at over 10% a year in Zimbabwe with vital ministries including running schools, hospitals and clinics, etc.
