Copied from our August church newsletter:
As
we begin our second year in ministry together, let me reiterate how excited I
am to be serving Christ with you. I look forward to a bright future as we
strive to serve the interest of not ourselves--but the interest of God.
To
assist me in reflecting upon our journey--the ups and downs this past year, I
reread our past newsletters. The below was in my introductory letter to you a
year ago. I think it’s worth sharing again:
One
of my many favorite sayings, The Prayer of
St. Teresa of Avila, reminds us
that:
“Christ has no body now but yours; no
hands, no feet on earth but yours;
yours are the eyes through which He
looks compassion on this world;yours are the feet with which He walks to do good;
yours are the hands with which He blesses all the world;
yours are the hands, yours are the feet, yours are the eyes, you are His body.
Christ has no body now on earth but yours.”
As we continue onward, I pray that God continues to provide each of us with abundant new gifts and graces for ministry. I will continue to lift you in prayer and ask that you pray for me as well. God Bless, Pastor Alan Gager
