50th Anniversary October 7

In the fall of 1968, a small group of dedicated Christians met at Prosperity School located 1 mile north of 30th street on Plum (currently the Sand Hill Event Center) to begin a journey of faith worshipping together in the gym until the new church building would be built at Severance and 30th Street.
Finally on the exciting day, May 17, 1970, church members met at Prosperity school and proceeded via a caravan to our new church facility. Pastor, Rev. C. Robert Brown, explained, “This is symbolic of the children of God constantly being called upon to move from the old and familiar to the new and untried.”  They adhered to the slogan “Put Faith In Your Future.” What an amazing five minute drive that must have been!
On October 7, 2018, members and friends of Faith United Methodist will be reversing the caravan drive, worshipping at Faith UMC and then driving to the Sand Hill Event Center, where it all began, to celebrate the past 50 years. This to will be amazing! A new slogan will be on our minds; “Faith for the journey on God’s path-50 years and beyond.”
The anniversary committee hopes everyone realizes the choices we have made were done with much thought to heighten the experience of the event. We will be coming full circle and will begin a new journey on God’s path! How exciting.
See you on October 7th!  Bring your smile. Bring a friend.  All are welcome for the 10:30 a.m. worship service at Faith United Methodist Church and then the free catered meal beginning at noon at the Sand Hills Event Center.
