The information reported from the news is causing a panic
about this virus. As viruses do, they
can cause very serious illness in the elderly, the young, and anyone who's
immune system is weakened. It is spread through the air from person to person,
attaches in the lungs, and can cause shortness of breath or difficulty
breathing (reasons to seek medical attention.)
Prevent it from spreading by:
a) Staying home if
you are ill. (Rest, drink extra fluids, treat fever.)
b) Washing your
hands frequently with soap and water or bacterial hand sanitizer especially
before and after eating, and when in close contact with others (hand shaking, providing
physical care).
c) Covering your
mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing, and throwing away tissues
immediately.
d) Wipe down
surfaces where viruses can linger (tables, sinks, handles of grocery carts,
etc.)
KEEP YOUR HANDS
AWAY FROM YOUR EYES, NOSE, AND MOUTH.
If you seek medical attention, alert the facility of your
symptoms to avoid cross contamination with others.
